What can we say about Michael Balla - he's a funny guy; a talented up-and-comer, truly invested in his craft.
His skin is probably darker than yours, his teeth are definitely whiter than FARGO and his love for his Yankees cap (worn at almost every show) rivals that of Linus' for his security blanket. Have we mentioned Mike's uniquely nasal, yet engaging voice?
After graduating from NYU with a pre-med/psychology degree, Mike began working in medical advertising. Three years later, the voices in his head instructed him to abandon the comfortable, albeit pointless life he carved out for himself and to pursue the greater challenge of stand-up comedy.
He has since performed at many of New York City's premiere comedy clubs and is a regular on the underground comedy circuit.
Michael recently appeared in a promotional trailer for the 2004 Gen Art Film Festival. It aired on Time Warner Cable and at Loews Cineplex Theaters leading up to the festival in mid-April.
Michael is also a freelance writer for TwoDrinkMin.com, an online publication dedicated to stand-up comedy.
