Mat Alano-Martin comes to comedy from the world of rock and roll, where he spent 10 years touring North America as an Americana singer-songwriter, opening for a who’s who of indie rockers and roots revivalists and occasionally headlining his own smaller, less well attended shows. With a comedic style that bridges the alternative sensibilities of his indie-rock background with the more mainstream views of his rural and blue collar youth, Alano-Martin was selected to be the opening act on Ralphie May’s 2012 summer tour.

Alano-Martin is a regularly touring comic playing clubs, colleges and one nighters throughout the Midwest and has also appeared on the nationally syndicated The Bob & Tom Show and at Gilda’s LaughFest, Sacramento Comedy Festival, The World Series of Comedy and Comcast’s “Look Who’s Laughing Now.”

In addition to Ralphie May, Alano-Martin has had the pleasure of working with Jim Breuer, Gilbert Gottfried, Marc Maron, Kristen Schaal, Moshe Kasher, Nikki Glaser, Kurt Braunholer, Erin Foley, Neil Hamburger, Sean Patton, John Roy, Morgan Murphy and John Evans – to name a few.
