Hilarious only took 7 years. Read the book the artist's way. went back to college. completed an associates degree. took two years to practice nursing assistance. In addition to public patients I nursed several family members from cancer to hospice and also cancer to wellness. I find the funny still in everything i walk through. Back here to step on a stage and feel the love. Remembering this... not to take it all so seriously. Thank you Comedy Soapbox for still being a domain to come to for comics.

wow have not been on here chatting up my doings in a while. took the stage twice in 2008 so far. first we did a roast for a great florida comic kendra corrie who is on her way to nashville to further her artistic vision. she is very talented and found roasting her or any of my other fellow comics to be hard. but i did rumble up a few jabbs to participate in the fun. then i went up for bonkerz open mic last tuesday. had a few new things i tried and found my warm place under the white light. i did tape one of my sets around thanksgiving 07 but the photographer started recording a few minutes into my set so not a solid product to be airing out in cyberspace just yet. Hope to have something recorded in the coming months. Till then i am diving into the "artist way" and looking fwd to the growth/ disipline change in my writing.

Spring in my step

So i got back up on the Improv stage for a new comers of comedy contest. Great crowd about 250 people the most i have ever performed in front of to date. I learned a valuable lesson n my short but i thought tight set. Do not go political it cuts your audience in half just like the election results. Not to say i cant rework my bit to work...just need to keep writing. What i mean is my set was step by step building and then i threw anti bush sentiment out and the room divided on me. half cheered and clapped and some hissed and moaned. thank goodness i won them all back on the next joke but i definatley had that moment of oh no this joke went south. That one line of political humor aside the set was good all the rest got laughs and a few some big response so i was thrilled. The stage is so much fun cant explain it other than to say it a very happy place to be for me.....

So i rode the high of making it to the improv stage for an open mic for two many weeks. I got on stage a few days after my great feeling at the improv and bombed ..unprepared and half ass i bombed. thats what cocky gets ya i guess? so after my bomb i sat on the comedy thing not purposely but now in retro i see i did sit around for a few weeks and not write or preform. THat felt not so good so last night i jumped on stage at Bonkerz open mic. HAd to. It was like working out and you know sometimes you dont feel like doing it only you know youll feel better if you just do it. So i did it got back up ready to bomb or fly high again it didnt matter..what mattered was getting up and not letting the BOMB show be bigger than me. So today i am anxious to write , and plan the next few open mics with vision. Learning it is really just about doing the work. The laughs and haha good times can be the reward for my hard work.
